French philosopher Jean Baudrillard suggests we see everyday things as signs and that there are various steps and signs in our normal day to day reality. I discuss this theory by focusing on an enforced consumerist lifestyle. This consumer led lifestyle manipulates and focuses its ideas of hyper-reality which is then projected back as a way of normality leaving the consumer with the perpetual need to consume.
